Cognac Frapin
The Frapin family has been around the Southwest of France since 1270. Always active in the domain of winegrowing, they specialized in distillation much later on and have since continued to stand strong throughout twenty generations! The estate owns 300 hectares of land entirely in the Grande Champagne area, of which 200 are planted with vines. Frapin’s home in the beautiful caste Fontpinot in the town of Segonzac. The most famous family member was the 16th century author Francois Rabelais, after whom a prestigious Frapin cognac bottle is named: The Cuvee Rabelais. Like some other cognac houses, Frapin needs to extend business through diversifying into other luxury products such as chocolate or coffee. Frapin was the first cognac producer to invent a multi-vintage blend, combining vintages of different years to create the perfect taste
Frapin First - 593 acres of remarkable vineyard in the heart of Cognac’s Premier Cru area. Elegant, fresh, and fruity. The average age is 4 to 6 years, much more than the legally required 2 and a half years
Frapin VSOP - Warm, complex, baked fruit, rich, hot, rose petals. It was also named Best VSOP of 2016 in the World Cognac Awards. Aged 8 to 10 years while the legally required minimum is 4 and half years.
Frapin XO FontPinot - Essentially a dry cellar Cognac for its finesse and elegance without overpowering oak, sheer elegance. Aged 10 to 18 years while an XO is legally required to be aged for a minimum of 6 and half years. House’s flagship
Frapin XO Cigar Blend - Exceptionally long finish in which all the flavors combine in a subtle and complex harmony. The cognac reveals a discreet vanilla note from the tannin in the wood and a consistent bouquet with persistent aromas of spices, dried fruits and "rancio".
Frapin Extra - A Cognac at the peak of its maturity with some 50 years of aging in both humid and dry cellars, a masterpiece brought to us from the past generations of Frapin cellar masters.
VIP XO Cognac - Frapin VIP XO is a spicy and floral Cognac with lots of the characteristics that you'd expect from a Grande-Champagne-heavy blend of eaux-de-vie. This was the only Cognac served on British Airways Concorde flights.
